New generation of a Local Automated Warning System (LAWS) at "Zagorka" JSc.

Today, representatives of "Zagorka" JSc. and "ITA Engineering" Ltd. put into operation a new modern Local Automated Warning Sytem covering the teritorry of the beer factory in Stara Zagora.

As an official partner of the leader in the field of warning systems - Hoermann GmbH", ITA Engineering" Ltd. designed, delivered and installed a fully automated siren warning system for the needs of the beer factory of "Zagorka" JSc. The system consists of outdoor sirens, which cover the territory of the factory as well as the nearby housing estates, as well as indoor sirens and lights for indoor warning to be used in case of emergency to warn the employees working inside. The installed and tested LAWS is already a part of the National Siren Warning system, maintained by "Civil Defence", Ministry of Interior, Stara Zagora.

In this way, the rule for early warning of the population according to point 5, sub-point 5, which says that the Early Warning system should coordinate on all levels, through integrated Local Automated Early Warning systems of potentially dangerous facilities and activities.











The new siren warning system in Smolyan was successfully tested

Smolyan is the sixth town in the country, where today exactly at 10:00am experts from the Ministry of emergency situations, Civil protection and ITA Engineering – an official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”, successfully tested the siren warning system in Smolyan town, part of the National Siren Warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations.

There were installed 30 electronic sirens on the territory of the town, which provide a full acoustic coverage. During the planning of coverage there have been taken into account the specific relief of the town, its location in the river valley as well as “the length” of the town and its adjacent quarters. The planning is optimized in order to avoid using a repeater station.


According to the scenario, at 10:00am the citizens and the guests of the town heard a voice message for the forthcoming test: “Attention, Attention, Attention! A technical test is running! And this message was repeated three times. Within 30 minutes it was simulated receiving an information for failure and aeration on the territory of the town after a fire in a cable factory, for strong winds and a danger from a chemical contamination and flood in result of sharp increase of the level of river “Cherna” with danger for overflow in the section of complex “Izgrev” and “Ustovo” and “Rajkovo” quarters, as well as a fire in the building at the city center, in result of a bomb attempt. For each calamity was activated a signal followed by a voice messages “Danger from chemical contamination”, “Danger from flood” and “End of the technical test”. Continuity of each of the activated signals was within 1 minute.



Information about the “calamities” was received in Operative Communication – Informational Centre (OCIC) of the Ministry of emergency situations in Smolyan town, and the sirens were activated by experts from the Ministry. New sirens are controlled locally from the local control center in Smolyan as well as from the national control center in Sofia.

During the tests, the new electronic sirens showed full functionality. It was tested the alternative power supply with batteries of the one siren also. This type of power supply provides full functionality of the sirens for a period of two months.

The mayor of Sofia, Boiko Borisov awarded eng. Nikos Gicas who was in charge of the Sofia metro extension project.

After the official opening of the metro section from “Vasil Levski” stadium to “Mladost 1” complex in the national opera was held a ceremony on which the mayor Boiko Borisov awarded the companies distinguished in building the new metro section. ITA Engineering was among the awarded companies for installation of special systems for security and telecommunications in metro stations.

The award was given to eng. Nikos Gicas as a project manager.

The new metro section from “Vasil Levski” stadium to “Mladost 1” complex was opened.

Today at 11:00am at the “Vasil Levski” stadium was officially opened a metro section form the stadium to the market in “Mladost 1” complex. The event was attended by the president Georgi Parvanov, minister of transportation Peter Mutafchiev, mayor of Sofia Boiko Borisov, regional governor Todor Modev, the Secretary – General of ENP Antonio Lopez, Japanese ambassador Zuneharu Takeda and the executive director of “Metropoliten” EAD, eng. Stoyan Bratoev.

The opening was held at the metro station “Vasil Levski stadium” (next to the national radio and “Yunak” stadium) After the major Boiko Borisov and the president Georgi Parvanov cut the band of the section, they bought tickets and got down to the station where together with the other attending begin their test of the trace from the first to the last station and back.

Traveling on the trace of the new metro section with the Secretary – General of ENP Antonio Lopez, Boiko Borisov said that all exploitation requirements and standard procedures are met, in spite of the fact that the new metro section is opened 4 months before the term set. Each day before the term set is a relief for about 50 – 60 thousands people who will use this section daily, declare the mayor.  

The length of the section is 6 kilometers with 5 stations. The interval of metro traffic will be 7 minutes. Four trains will travel in this section, according to the executive director of “Metropoliten” EAD Stoyan Bratoev, cited from BTA and BNR. Construction of the section which was opened on Friday began in 2006 pointed Bratoev. From the general length of 6 kilometers, 1,6 kilometers are above the earth and this is mainly because of the bridge equipments. The maximum height of one of the bridges is 18 meters, said Bratoev.

“Attention! Attention! Attention!” – Resound Pazardjik town during the tests of the new siren system

Today at 11:00am sharp, experts from the Ministry of emergency situations, Civil protection and ITA Engineering – an official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN” successfully tested the siren warning system in Pazardjik town, part of the National Siren Warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations.

There are 40 sirens installed on the territory of the town, which provide a full acoustic coverage. During the planning of coverage there have been taken into account the specific relief of the town as well as its location near to Maritza River and the planning is optimized in order to avoid using of repeater stations.


Within 30 minutes was simulated receiving of information for failure and aeration after a fire in one gas station in town, for danger of overflow of Maritza river in the section near to a town and for a fire in a building located in the central part of the town in result of a bomb attempt. For each calamity was activated a signal followed by a voice messages “Danger from a chemical contamination”, “Danger from flood” and “End of the technical test”. Continuity of each of the activated signals was within a minute.



Information for the “calamities” was received in the OCIC of the Ministry of emergency situations in Pazardjik, and the sirens were activated by experts from the ministry. There were tests of emission of voice messages live and recorded from the Local control centre in Pazardjik as well as from the National control centre in Sofia. This procedure confirmed the security and reservdness of the system. During the tests the new electronic sirens showed full functionality. The new sirens replace the old one and provide coverage for “Ustrem” and “Mladost” quarters, gipsys’ quarter, industrial zone and part of the central town area.

The new siren system in Pleven was successfully tested.

Experts from the Ministry of emergency situations, Civil protection and ITA Engineering – an official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN” successfully tested the siren warning system in Pleven town, part of the National Siren Warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations.

There are 40 electronic sirens installed on the territory of the town, which provide full acoustic coverage. During the planning of coverage there have been taken into account the specific relief as well as the frequently flooded area near to “Kajlyka” lake. Sirens are controlled in local level from the regional control center in Pleven as well as from the National control center in Sofia.

At 11:02am was simulated receiving of information for a failure and probability of aeration on the territory of the town in result of a car accident on a crossing of a ring-road with main road E83 between a bus and a tanker with chlorine. It was determined a chlorine leak. For Pleven town the sirens were activated from the National control center in Sofia, in order to check the functionality between the national center and the local center in Pleven. In result at 11:08am the official on duty in Pleven activated a voice message “Danger from chemical contamination” on the territory of Pleven town. At 11:10am in the operation – communicational center in Pleven was received a signal from RC 112 – Montana for explosives in the dam wall in “Kajlyka” lake. The official on duty warns the population in the area by choosing a group of sirens. At 11:02am it was activated an acoustic signal “National signal for alert” in the area of calamity after that at 11:15am there was a voice message “Danger from flood”. At 11:20am in the OCIC was received a signal for fire in the building of regional administration. The experts from the ministry activated a siren located on the roof of the regional administration locally. After the danger passed away in these three areas, at 11:28am was activated an “All clear signal” followed by a voice message “End of the technical test” at 11:30am. During the tests was demonstrated the basic functions of the system. Continuity of each activated signal was within a minute. The tests were successful and in Pleven was activated a new system for warning the population.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assigned a delivery of 40 consoles for their queue management system.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria chose ITA Engineering Ltd. for an executor for a public procurement with subject “Delivery of 40 hardware consoles for queue management with licenses and compatible with the existing queue management system for the needs of Consular Relations Directorate”.

11 Sirens provides the acoustic coverage of Kyrdjali town – the second town where the siren system were successfully installed and tested

The tests of the siren warning system in Kyrdjai, part of the National Siren Warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations finished successfully at 11:30am sharp, in presence of experts from the Ministry of emergency Situations, Civil protection and ITA Engineering – an official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”.

There are 11 electronic sirens on the territory of the town, which provide full acoustic coverage. During the planning of coverage here have been taken into account the specific relief of the town as well as the frequently flooded area near to “Kyrdjali” reservoir. The sirens are controlled locally from the Regional Control Centre in Kyrdjali as well as from the National Control Centre in Sofia.

The system check began at 11:00am with live voice message concerning the forthcoming technical test “Attention! Attention !Attention! A technical test is running!”

At 11:02am it was simulated receiving information for a failure and aeration on the territory of the town in result of which the sirens were activated with “National signal for alert” at 11:05am. At 11:08am the official on duty in OCIC activated a voice message “Danger from chemical contamination” on the territory of Kyrdjali. At 11:10am in OCIC Kyrdjai was received information about a danger from overflow of “Kyrdjali” reservoir. The official on duty began to warn the population in the area near to the reservoir as he activated a group of sirens. At 11:12am was activated an acoustic signal “National signal for alert” in the affected area and at 11:15am was activated a voice message “danger from flood”. Ten minutes later in OCIC was received a signal for fire in the building of Regional Administration and the siren which is located on the roof of the regional administration building was immediately activated locally. After the danger passed away in the affected areas, at 11:28am was activated “National signal for all clear”. Basic functions of the system were demonstrated during the tests. Continuity of each signal was within a minute. The new siren warning system was successfully activated and tested in Kyrdjali town.

Ruse town is the first successfully installed and tested with real activation of the sirens, part of the National siren warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population

Today at 11:30h the siren warning system in Ruse town, a part of the National Siren Warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations was successfully tested. There are 56 electronic sirens ECN 1200 115dB/30m on the territory of the town, which provide full acoustic coverage. Sirens are controlled on the local level form the Regional Control Center in Ruse as well as from the National Control Center in Sofia. Tests were done by experts from the Ministry of emergency situations, Civil protection and “ITA Engineering” - official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”.

Tests include simulating several scenarios for the ways of warning in case of emergency situations. The test of the system began at 11:00h with live voice message for the coming technical testing.

At 11:02h was simulated receiving information for a failure and poison gas in Gjurgevo town, in result the sirens were activated from the center in Sofia. Because of strong winds from north, at 11:05h the official on duty received an order to activate acoustic signal on the territory of Ruse town. At 11:12h in the operative communication information center to the Ministry in Ruse was received information for approaching a tidal wave on Danube River. The official on duty started warning the population in the frequently flooded area near the river as well as the whole town. At 11:15h was activated a signal in the area of disaster, followed by a voice message “flood”. After the danger passed, at 11:25h was activated a signal for end of the reported alert, followed by a voice message. During the tests, the system was in full functionality and were demonstrated its basic functions. The duration of each test was 1 minute and during the tests and after that the sirens was in stand by position.





The new siren warning system in the central part of Sofia city (20sq.m) was successfully tested and put into operation.

Silent tests of new siren warning system in the city center in Sofia were successfully tested today. 44 electronic sirens, which provide acoustic coverage of 20sq.m from the central part of the city are in full functionality. Simulations were made by experts from the Ministry of emergency situations, Civil protection and “ITA Engineering” – official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”.

The scenario includes simulating signals for emergency situations on the territory of Sofia. At 11:00h the official on duty in the operative communication and information center received a signal for poison gas in the area of “Kremikovci” factory. After following the preliminary approved procedures the official on duty activates a signal “Chemical contamination” followed form voice message for “Chemical contamination”. At 11:08h was received information for very strong winds from northwest. Using the functions of the control software, “the official on duty defines the area, which is potentially in danger of poison gas and begin to emit a message with instructions for evacuation of population. At 11:30h, the official on duty received information that the situation is under control and activate the signal “ALL CLEAR” followed by a voice message “ALL CLEAR”. At 11:40h the official on duty starts a procedure for silent test after the danger for the population has passed. The results show full functionality of the system.

Installation of the siren system continues in order to provide full acoustic coverage of the city..







The new siren warning system in Bourgas – pilot project, part of National siren warning system for warning an executive power bodies and the population, start working.

Today at 12:00h the siren warning system was successfully tested in Bourgas – pilot project, a part of the National Siren Warning System to warn an executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations, installed by ITA Engineering – an official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”. The acoustic coverage of the town is provided by 44 sirens. It was installed an Alternative Control Center in Bourgas, which is functioning as a reserve of National Control Center in Sofia, as well as Regional Control Center with control functions for the territory of Bourgas town. In representatives from the Ministry of emergency situations and Civil protection presence in Bourgas town, was simulated several scenarios for the ways of warning in case of emergency situations. Twenty minutes scenario includes simulated receiving of a signal for “chemical contamination”, “flood” and “ALL-CLEAR”. Each test continues for a minute. Sirens were activated from the Operative communication – information center of the territorial direction of MES in Bourgas. The siren on the Bourgas Municipality was activated independently. The scenario includes also simulating a technical problem in Bourgas center, which warning functions was immediately taken from Sofia. In this way the mutual replacement in dropping out of one of the centers was tested. During the tests, the system was in full functionality and its basic functions were demonstrated. Each test took one minute and during the tests and after that, sirens were in full readiness.

After the successful testing the statement of findings was signed from both parties and the pilot project of the system was approved from the representatives of Ministry of emergency situations and Civil protection – Bourgas town.







First centers of the National siren warning system are put into operation

A team of experts from “ITA Engineering” – official partner of Hörmann GmbH for Bulgaria and a subcontractor of Consortium “Hörmann-SEN” in collaboration with an expert group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) made a successful functional testing of the equipment in the National Control Center and in the Regional Control Center – Sofia city.

After the successful testing and signing the statements of findings, the system was approved from the MES’ representatives.






ITA Engineering signed a contract as a subcontractor with Consortium “Hörmann-SEN”

The company signed a contract as a subcontractor with consortium “Hörmann -SEN” for a project for installation of National siren warning system to warn executive power bodies and the population in case of emergency situations. The scope of the contract is installation of Control centers for observation and control of the system, as well as a pilot project of the siren system for warning through end acoustic devices the population in case of emergency situations on the territory of Bourgas town.

In Sofia city, it will be installed a National Control Center with supervisor functions and highest priority in the structure of National siren warning system, as well as Regional Control Center with control functions for the territory of Sofia. In Bourgas town will be installed Alternative Control Center with a reserved function of National Control Center – Sofia, as well as Regional Control Center with control functions for the territory of Bourgas town.





10 Bulgarian consulships will be equipped with Queuing Management Systems.
